    • Transmutation
      • Q: Can Transmutation change energy states? EX: Water to Ice, Ice to Steam, etc
        • A: The Temper spell can do this, though it takes an extra turn to do a state transition (See Temper spell description)
      • Q: Can Transmutation change a pile of graphite into a diamond?
        • A: The Harden spell is temporary, so the implication is realigning carbon in this fashion is something outside the realm of the average transmuter. However, a very talented mage might be able to with a high check (30+, depending on your GM).
      • Reshape
        • Q: While the range is touch, once touching an object of a larger size, how far does the effect range? IE, if I touch a car's back bumper, can I effect the front bumper?
          • A: Temper, Tremor, and Erode give the impression Transmutation only works on a single material at a time. As a GM, I’d weigh this on a case-by-case basis for what is the most fun. My gut GM answer would be you have to touch the piece in question, or at least be right next to it.
        • Q: Can I reshape items to seperate components from compound items. IE: I touch a cell phone, and I want all the plastic to come off in a single piece
          • A: To do this would require a transmutation check (and maybe a science or engineering check depending on the complexity).
        • Q: Can I reshape items to make alloys? IE: I put a piece of copper and a piece of zinc in my hand… can I reshape them to make brass?
          • A: You’d need a high science and transmutation check to do something like this at a non-trivial level.
        • Q: If I had access to imaging equipment (Say, an electron microscope), could I reshape something as small as say, the circuitry in a computer CPU?
          • A: The transmutation vein description indicates this is something an extremely high-level transmuter could do.
        • Q: Can I compress and expand using reshape? Say, make a diamond out of coal, or aerate titanium?
          • A: If you can justify that amount of pressure from the Reshape mass limits, then yes. Otherwise, this either requires a high-check or it outside the realm of magic.
        • Q: Can I align materials? For example, turning iron magnetic, or forming carbon fiber rods?
          • A: This is probably the same answer as the graphite to diamond question. You could also cast Magnetize for the former.
  • SKILLS
    • Acrobatics
    • Driving
      • Q: While driving I have to make a complex manuever… is this a MOVE or an INTERACT action?
        • A: It depends on how the GM and players are handling driving the car. You can have everything car-related be an Interact (meaning Move, Defend, etc. have the character mostly or completely ignore driving for that turn). You could also have the driver use cards indicating how they are handling the car (Defend for evasion, Move for rapid acceleration or sharp turns, Attack to ram or side-swipe, etc). The former works better if the car is tangential to the scene; the latter works best if you’re doing an explicit car fight.
    • Engineering
      • Q: Are there any modifiers if I'm using reshape to create/fix/adjust items I'm building?
        • A: It depends on the complexity of the components. If you don’t have the engineering skill (or abilities), transmutation won’t fill in the knowledge gaps. Likewise, if you aren’t good at transmutation magic, engineering doesn’t help with the delicate work. This is a GM-discretion sort of thing, but when in doubt, have the player roll engineering and transmutation checks and take the lower.
    • Firearms
    • Imbuement
      • Q: Do I need to know any specific vein as a prerequesite to making different enchantments?
        • A: No, Imbuement includes the knowledge of the enchantment
      • Q: Do weapon enchantments go on Melee Weapons or Ranged Weapons… Or Both?
        • A: You can put enchantments on both. It’s the GM’s discretion how ranged-weapon enchantments effect the ammo and actual attacks.
      • Q: Can you put weapon enchantments on ammunition?
        • A: Yes. Depending on your GM’s interpretation of magic, this might the only way to affect enemies with enchanted ranged weapons (or maybe it doesn’t work because you have to touch the imbuement).
      • Q: If you can put weapon enchantments on ammunition, can you combine them? EX: Bow of Burning with Arrows of Major Damage?
        • A: The GM should decide how magic is transferred through the caster into the weapon and affected upon the enemy. Personally, I’d say the weapon can impart magic when the shot leaves the gun (to help its aim or something), but the bullet must be magic to actually apply an effect on landing (like igniting the target).
      • Q: Can you put enchantments on tech items? EX: Ford Mustang of Trailing? EX: 9mm automatic of Seeking? EX: Cattleprod of Burning? EX: Transforming Walkie-Talkie?
        • A: Yes. If you can put blood on something, it can be imbued.
      • Q: If some gear has the "Transforming" enchantment, does that include what's in it? EX: I put Transforming on a box. I put a golf ball in the box. I activate the Transforming into a small cube…
        • A: Magic in Catalyst obeys the conservation of mass and energy. Nothing is ever “created” or “summoned”. The ball would get crushed. The box would also weigh the same.
          • Q: Does this mean that the "Transformed" item is made up of the same materials as the originating item? EX: I put it on a Dome Tent, to transform into a small cube for easy transport… its weight is stil that of the full sized tent, and its made of nylon, carbon fiber and some illuminum?
            • A: Yes. Think of it like a Reshape spell with fixed shapes. If I had a Transforming Crossbow that turned into a axe for melee combat, the metal would redistribute and bow string would be somewhere in the axe.

      • Q: Is there any limits on the amount of Magic Items I can carry?
        • A: Not unless your GM wants there to be.
      • Q: Can I stack magic items? EX: Can I wear a "T-Shirt of Intensive Protection" under a "Flannel Shirt of Intensive Protection" which is under a "Leather Jacket of Intensive Protection""?
        • A: You would be very warm fighting in three layers, but yes. That would also drain your vigor fast if you chose to activate all of them every hit.
